Environmental Responsibility

We take our environmental impact quite seriously, and we address it by establishing ecological policies that benefit the planet and all individuals in our workplace. We are always in search of ways to conserve energy that may complement the other measures that have already been established in Bupa.
Reducing our impact on the environment
In Bupa Latin America and Caribbean we are dedicated year-round to creating environmental awareness, and promoting practical solutions by:
- Reducing the number of vehicles on the road, by encouraging employees to participate in our carpooling program. Over 70 staff members partake in the program and are individually rewarded with a US$50 gas card every month.
- Providing water bottles and mugs to all employees to discourage the use of single-use plastic and Styrofoam cups, eliminating excess waste.
- Using a paperless presentation system by providing reports and supplements via USB drives to reduce the amount of wasted paper.
- Supplying “Green Tips” through the internal update sent to all Bupa Latin America and the Caribbean employees, providing ways for them to be environmentally conscious in the office and at home.
- Equipping the office with recycling receptacles in multiple locations so paper, aluminum and plastic containers used by employees can be recycled.
Our printer is green
We are glad to report that our printer is now part of the worldwide effort to protect the environment.
They are chain-of-custody certified (COC) with the Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC™), who ensures that forestry practices employed to make the product are environmentally responsible, socially beneficial and economically viable.
By putting these environmental responsibility practices in use, Bupa is supporting the worldwide effort to help our environment.
